Ichigo gets his ass kicked. What else is new?
So Ichigo still cannot believe Nel (her name actually as one L) was a former espada and Nnoitra continues to beat the hell out of Ichigo by giving him Falcon kicks. He says he smashed Nell’s head in and banished her out of Las Noches. He also says that she was deceiving Ichigo and his crew the whole time but Nel says otherwise. As Nnoitra is about to really give Nel a lot of hurtin’, Ichigo tries to stop him but gets pwnt in the process. Nnoitra grabs him and is about to break his wrist when Nel screams out Ichigo’s name and transforms into an older-looking woman?!
Rating and opinion: 3.5 out of 5.0. The twist at the end with Nel was a surprise but it just comes off as something hackneyed and cliché and as an excuse for minor fanservice (a nice generous rack she happens to have). Despite this, I am intrigued to find out more about what power she has.
In earlier chapters, Nel was shown to be a lot smarter than she seemed, using vocabulary that would be far too advanced for a little girl to know. At least Kubo didn’t forget about this aspect and finally gave Nel some development.
I say Nel fully awakens (yes Claymore) and beats the hell out of Nnoitra by Chapter 293.
